WRONGS AND INJURIES YOU SUFFER ARE THE WILL OF GOD
No sin, no injustice, no moral imperfection whatsoever may be directly related to God, who is eternal and infinite Sanctity. Hence, whenever people are consciously unjust to you, so as to offend God thereby, they cannot consider their acts the Will of God. They are deliberately opposing the Will of God. However, this is only one side of the picture.
When you consider, so to say, the reverse of the medal, any kind of injustice will appear to your eyes as an event conformable to the Will of God. This is true when you consider your side of the injustice. In other words, as the sinner who persecutes a just soul undoubtedly offends God, so the victim of persecution is certainly complying with the Will of God while he patiently and peacefully endures the wrong.
Most people, even those striving for perfection, contemplate the injustice inflicted upon them, so to say, from the wrong side. Instead of asking what God wants them to do, to think and to feel at the time of the injustice, they rather angrily and persistently inquire why people commit that injustice. Now it is God who has reserved for Himself the right to judge and to sentence the persecutor; the victim's only obligation is peacefully to suffer the inflicted evils. That is to say that any wrong done to a person must be accepted by the innocent sufferer as the manifest Will of God.
Human nature, created to the likeness of God, and basically good, keenly resents every kind of injustice. However, enlightened souls are always mindful of the truth that man, after Original Sin, has only a very restricted right to complain about the hardships of life. Should he even be subjected to every possible wrong and injustice on earth, still his debt to God would be greater than all his sufferings combined. Does not revelation teach us that one mortal sin deserves eternal punishment in Hell? Consequently, refrain from viewing your little earthly afflictions and adversities as wrongs done to you. You often repeat this humble prayer: My fault, my fault, my most grievous fault. . .Be consistent, then, and do not take the alleged wrongs you suffer too tragically.
Striving for religious sanctity is tantamount to following in the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus Christ. If you have left this goal out of your sight, then you have definitely wandered from the path of evangelical perfection, if not from the way of salvation. Now, who on earth has ever suffered wrongs comparable to those inflicted upon the Innocent Lamb of God, the Only-Begotten Son of the Eternal Father, absolutely equal to Him in sanctity? Jesus was not only ignored and despised by the leaders of Israel, but accused of revolt against the Law of God, of falsehood, of pride, of blasphemy. As a result, He was publicly executed on the gallows of the Cross, between two notorious thieves. All this took place after countless and
